Sanitaire SC888K Product Review

eVacuumStore is pleased to introduce to you the Sanitaire SC888K commercial upright vacuum cleaner. We took this vacuum for a test drive on our pile carpeting and tile floor surfaces. Read on to hear about its performance.

> When you first open your eVacuumStore shipment, you are going to be greeted with an array of parts. You have a upper handle, a lower handle, two sets of 2-part bolts, a lower and upper plastic cord wrap, two screws that attach the 9.5 quart Allergen bag to the vacuum motorhead, and lastly a dual zipper connector that allows users to easily open and close up the bag when it needs to be changed. With so many parts, it's easy to get overwhelmed. However, Sanitaire does a good job of providing customers with a self-help guide to assembling your vacuum cleaner with high-quality graphic images, and eVacuumStore has created its own step-by-step instructions on how to assemble this model as well

Once the Sanitaire SC888K is assembled and plugged in, you can turn on the vacuum by pressing the circular power switch located on the motor hood. To release the handle, press on the gray rectangular handle release button located on the left rear side of the motorhead. If you wish to lay the vacuum flat, press the release button again and cleaning under furniture should be a breeze. We began our testing by vacuuming our wall-to-wall low-pile carpet in the lobby. To do this, we had to turn the 6-position height adjustment dial located on the motorhead to the correct setting. As a rule of thumb, if your cleaner is difficult to push, you need to change your height setting. We found that a height setting of 2 worked best on low-pile carpet while a height setting of 5 or 6 worked best on high-pile carpet. This model does not have automatic height adjustment or electronic sensors that prompt you to change your height setting. So be sure to pay careful attention as you're cleaning!

Sanitaire Decibel Reading
As for bare floors, this model does not have an on/off brushroll switch. However, you can still safely clean these surfaces providing that you adjust the height so that the brushroll does not reach the floor. As for sound level, the Sanitaire SC888K clocks in at around 79 dB. This specification can be equated to the sound of a dishwasher. If you're going to be reaching down to change the brushroll height, the dB will clock in at 83. Other cool features touted by the Sanitaire SC888K include a clear-coated soft-bumper and soft, non-marring wheels. Both accents are designed to protect your furniture and bare floors from unwanted scuffs.

Once we were done testing out this vacuum, we manually wrapped the 50 ft power cord around the upper and low plastic hooks and checked out the cloth allergen bag. For starters, Sanitaire's cloth allergen bag can hold 9.5 quarts of dirt and debris at one time. When compared against other vacuum cleaner models, this specification is well-above average. In regards to changing this bag, the red outer cloth bag works as a protective casing for the disposable bag hidden inside the cleaner. To open, you pull down on the dual zipper connectors and pull back on the finger tabs on the gray bag cap. This unveils the white disposable cloth bag.

Overall, the Sanitaire SC888K is affordable, easy to use, and is made out of durable chrome materials. It's a perfect addition to any commercial business. We hope you found this review both helpful and informative. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to speak with a trained vacuum specialist by dialing 1-866-972-8227.
