In recent months, we took the Automatic X4 for a spin on our pile carpeting and tile floor surfaces. This time around, we are armed with the SEBO Automatic X5 and are excited to share with you the differences between these two models.

To start off, the Automatic X5 bolsters a 15 inch cleaning width as opposed to the standard 12 inch cleaning width offered by the SEBO Automatic X4. The extra 3 inches of cleaner width makes this model ideal for vacuuming tight spaces too small for a traditional power head to reach. For ease in cleaning, the Automatic X series is the only SEBO line equipped with automatic height adjustment. For vacuum novices, automatic height adjustment simply means that the cleaner head adjusts itself to any floor surface without prompting from the user. When you see any green light illuminate on the cleaner head, you know that the brushroll is either adjusting downward or upward to match the height of your chosen surface. For optimum performance, it's best to wait for these lights to turn off before vacuuming.
To simplify vacuum maintenance, German engineers manufactured the Automatic X5 with two red indicator lights that alerts the user to an obstruction or directs the user to perform routine maintenance. Some of the causes for these lights to illuminate would be a clog in the brushroll or hose, a worn brushroll, or the SEBO Automatic X5 Filter Bag needs to be changed. To protect the 1300 watt motor from overheating or belt breakage, the Automatic X5 comes armed with an automatic shut off system that powers down the vacuum when a brushroll obstruction is sensed.

Internally, the SEBO Automatic X5 comes equipped with a SEBO Automatic X5 Filter Bag and an S-class Hospital Grade Microfilter. These three-ply bags are designed to not only hold dirt and debris, but also to filter particles before they ever reach the motor. For hygienic disposal, the SEBO Automatic X5 Filter Bag is fitted with a self-sealing collar that keeps debris locked inside the bag, which is far better than what a bagless vacuum has to offer. The Automatic X5 Exhaust Filter can be best described as a 15 inch tube made out of electrostatically charged micro-fiber material which absorbs 99.9% of particles down to 0.3 microns in diameter. This level of filtration exceeds that of HEPA filters!

One subtle feature of this vacuum that may go unnoticed by the novice user would be the quick release cable hook that doubles as a carry handle. When you turn the hook 90 degrees towards the ceiling, the 40 ft power cord will release, and you will be given a carry handle for convenient transport from room to room. Additionally, the ergonomic comfort grip handle was designed with arthritic hands in mind. Vacuum your home with ease knowing that your arthritis won't act up on account of using the SEBO Automatic X5.Of course, this SEBO upright would not be complete without a generous supply of attachments for all your cleaning needs. On the backside of the upright you will find an elongated crevice tool and upholstery brush for vacuuming underneath your bed and cleaning those delicate drapes. As for the dusting brush, you can find it attached to its clamp fitted around the handle assembly.
